#Gone2Gone 2021 Challenge
The official non-event event of the year is back. It's the 2021 #Gone2Gone challenge and we're SO EXCITED.
This is not a race or an official event - so don't expect a start/finish line blow-up banner, aid stations, medical support, medals or an overly excited MC on the mic.
This is just a route from one point to another, where you can get out there and explore our backyard or challenge yourself to see what you're capable of.
Use it as motivation to get moving, slot it into your training plan, or make a whole day out of it with friends and family.
However you do it, is up to you.
Not one, not two, but THREE Strava Segments
Oh yes! We have three different Strava segments planned for the next three months!
One route per month for July, August, and September. Each segment will be revealed just before the new month kicks off.
You're only allowed to run that month's route during the 31 (or 30) days to be eligible for the lucky draw and fastest time prizes.
That means you have three segments to chase in the next three months, and you stand the chance to win amazing spot prizes every month!
How do I sign up?
All you need to do right now is register here - no costs involved.
You need to register to be eligible for any of the fantastic spot prizes, but it's not compulsory to have Strava.
If you are competing for the fastest time prize, then your Strava profile should be set to public so your run will be recorded on the leaderboard.
Everyone stands a chance to win!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When does #Gone2Gone start?
#Gone2Gone takes place from 1 July to 30 September:
July Segment: 1 July-31 July
August Segment: 1 August-31 August
September Segment: 1 September-30 September
What is the route and is there a GPX file?
There will be one route per month for July, August, and September. Three different route/segments. Each segment will be revealed just before the new month kicks off and a GPX file will be available to download. Register to get the route and keep your eyes on social media!
The route will also be on the Gone. Outdoor Strava account.
How many times can you run/hike the route?
You can run / hike the course as many times as you like during the month to get more entries for the lucky draw prizes. Register on the sign-up form before every run.
Why did the route change?
With the closure of our Longmarket Street store, the original #Gone2Gone segment isn't applicable anymore, even though it still exists! We changed the route to include the Gone. store at the V&A Waterfront.
How many times can you run/hike the route?
You can run / hike the route/segment as many times as you like during the month - but you'll only be eligible for the lucky draw or fastest time prizes for that month's specific route during that month's window period.
Can you run the route in reverse?
Yes you can, but it won't count if you want to be eligible for the fastest time prize.
What if you want to do a different route, but in the same direction?
You're more than welcome to explore the trails and choose your own adventure! If you register and start/end at the official route start and finish, then you can still win lucky draw prizes. However, if you want to be eligible for the fastest male/female prizes, then you need to run the route/segment as is.
Why is there so much road?
We want to encourage everyone to participate so we chose a route across the mountain that is easily accessible and doable for all levels.
Is Strava a requirement?
No, unless you are competing for the fastest time. To be eligible for the fastest time prizes, your Strava profile should be set to public so your run will appear on the route/segment leaderboard.
FOR YOUR SAFETY!
Participants are reminded that this virtual challenge is a genuine mountain excursion, necessary care and respect must be taken when running within Table Mountain National Park and surrounds.
